According to Billboard.com, Naughty By Nature, one of the most successful crossover hip-hop acts of the 90’s, and one of my personal favorites, has reportedly decided to reunite to record a new album, set to release sometime early 2009.  The group plans to release the album independently, which is tentatively titled “Anthem Inc”.

“We’re going to make universal party tracks with great hooks; street anthems, social and political anthems, anthems for the ladies.”

Some cool insight into the production of a legendary album.

A bit of a late pass on this one but I wanted to post it anyway. The RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan teamed up with Chesspark to launch WuChess.com.

Any Wu fan can remember the countless references to the game of chess on their albums, and it is well known that RZA has been an avid chess player for a long time, so the partnership definitely makes sense. WuChess.com aims to be the new stomping ground for chess players who also happen to love hip-hop. Aside from being able to create your own profile, join chess “clans”, and having access to exclusive MP3’s, you can also get the chance to watch live matches between RZA and other hip-hop elites.

So after several months of toying with the idea of starting a blog, I have finally managed to get this thing going. I debated for a while what the focus of my writing should be about, and in the end I knew there was only one subject I really wanted to talk about, and that’s dj’ing. So to start things off, here is a classic track that pretty much sums up what this blog is going to be about, enjoy!
