Youtubedoubler Video Mashups
Ok while this is pretty much one of the dumbest things ever, I for some reason still managed to waste way too much time making horrible horrible “youtube mashups”. It’s simple enough, just paste in the URL’s of two different youtube videos, and then watch the mess unfold.

DJ Rob Swift Cutting It Up
Back in the day when I first began learning how to scratch, a lot of my inspiration came from the group the X-Ecutioners, specifically the album X-Pressions, which I remember listening to over and over and over…until the tape fell apart!
What I liked about the group was how smooth and accurate all their scratches were. Instead of stuffing as many advanced scratching techniques as they could into every song, they instead seemed to focus on delivering precise scratches and rhythmic patterns.
While most of my friends claimed Roc Raida as their favorite, I always sided with Rob Swift for some reason, which is why It was a pleasant surprise to come across this video of him doing what he does best.
Nothing new here in terms of the scratching, but just as good to listen to as it ever was!
Shout out to the homies at The LAB for the link!

Seagate Download Festival 2008
Its the weekend finally, and theres some great shows going on this weekend! I might find my way over to the HARD Summer Festival at the Shrine Expo Hall on Saturday night, but I have a gig that night that is about 75% confirmed right now so we’ll see. Sunday will be awesome though as I’m definitely going to the Seagate Download Festival happening at the Gibson Amphitheatre. The lineup has some great artists like Ghostland Observatory, Flosstradamus, Datarock, and one of my old time favorites, RJD2.

Chaka Khan on the Drums
Check this video of Chaka Khan getting funky on the drums, I had no idea she could play!
I met her daughter once at a club I was spinning at. I guess she was hosting the party, and at one point had me cut the music so she could sing a ‘promotional song’ for some website. Sadly it seemed as though she had not inherited her ma’s vocal chords as the crowd of about 900 people started booing her.
